strifins - a social media site

11:37 PM 26-03-2025
  1. sayshit - only posting no comments but reactions only

only AI images ;

wait - instead of comments, allow users to put personalized instantly made stickers;

maybe this will cost serious money;

but i guess, it's quirky enough to become trendy for a while; i shouldn't doubt myself too much; if i finish this - it'll be done very quickly and if i don't - it'll be left very quickly

batching is saving money. but do i have enough user load to use that? if i have such a small load, why am i even worried about pricing? anyways, when load increases, it can be batched easily; but would it work if we operate social media like stock market? of course, people want to talk at THAT instant. it might be out of trend the very next day. but imagine this - something very big happens, everybody comes to the site and creates their posts but they're not posted at that instant. instead, they'll all be posted at once the next day 9 AM. the comment section always stays open but it's only small stickers made by AI - a user can type "make my reaction as if i'm rolling my eyes" ; gotta finetune stickers to some unique style so that it STICKS;

this all might sound stupid but both snapchat and teenagers are stupid. it worked. so there's that. all this will cost money. but if it's costing so much money, then maybe you can make money out of it too.

anyways, here's the scenario. i'll make a social media site where

i wanna keep things to the bare minimum. there are big tasks hidden in it. how do i create the stickers? that's where i wanna spend my time to optimize efficiency and costs. i'll be using html, css and js for the frontend;

i'll have 2 options for the users - completely random posts on their feed vs personalized feed; we'll see the choice people are going to make; 'people' here has a starting range of 5; or maybe 10. can i not get 10 uesrs for my site organically? surely there are more than 10 bored people online all the time.

must not treat this as my journal; it's a blog;

i'm looking for a cost efficient, scalable(if necessary) way to store images.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/348363/what-is-the-best-place-for-storing-uploaded-images-sql-database-or-disk-file-sy

we'll use a file system to store images and then store them with metadata for easy navigation through subfolders. for all other storage, we'll use

we can have a ton of memes of different styles. turning anime memes into realistic, etc.
